Our dear Franklin transcended from this earthly life to his eternal life on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was 24 years old.
Greg was born on February 12th, 1997 in Surabaya Indonesia to his loving parents Natalia and Frank. His three sisters; Angie, Katty, and Kally were so excited to have a baby brother! From the time he was born they protected him like only the fiercest sisters could. Being the youngest, and the only boy, Greg was always special to his family. Even at a young age Greg displayed a remarkable ability to bring joy and make everyone around him laugh, traits that followed him his entire life.
When he was 4 years old Greg moved with his family to America. Greg showed a maturity, intelligence, and independence far beyond his years. Living in Portland Oregon, he found a love of nature and as a young man could often be found enjoying all the Pacific Northwest had to offer.
Greg always had a love of planes so after graduating high school it was an easy decision for him to step up and serve his country in the United States Air Force. After graduating Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in January 2016, Greg attended Crew Chief technical school at Sheppard Air Force Base. Upon graduation, Greg was assigned to the 605th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron where he was assigned to work on the KC-10 Extender.
At the 605th Greg stood out from his peers and worked tirelessly to develop himself into an exemplarily Airman. His passion for his profession and love of aircraft was evident to all who knew him. During this time Greg deployed twice to the Middle East. Through his selfless service Greg helped protect his fellow service members and people of the Levant. Even in the most difficult of times Greg found a way to bring a smile to those around him. Whether he was building a ten-pound burrito for his famished Master Sergeant, pranking the flight line security forces, or taking his friends on an early morning hike after feeding them a “large” breakfast, Greg would find a way to bring fun and laughter.
Never one to be satisfied, Greg sought out a new challenge by changing his career field to become a Flight Engineer. After finishing his school and earning the title of “FE”, Greg was assigned to the 43rd Electronic Combat Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as the youngest Flight Engineer assigned to the squadron.
Wherever Greg went he left an impact on those around him. He taught us how to laugh and enjoy life, even through the most difficult of times. Throughout his life Greg taught us what dedication and service to others meant. Most importantly, Greg taught us the true meanings of courage and bravery. Greg was taken from us far too early, but he left behind a legacy that will never fade. To our Son, Brother, and Friend – Fly High, Forever Loved.
Greg is survived by his Father Franklin, Mother Natalia, and three sisters: Angie, Katty, and Kally.
