George Thomas Steele

Mr. Steele graduated from Gresham High School in 1961. He then earned his degree in Machine Tool Technology at Mount Hood Community College.

He served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Thailand.

He married Delona Jean Tucker on May 21, 1969 in Reno, Nevada.

Mr. Steele enjoyed walking where he participated in the Portland to Coast, the Troutdale Trot, and the Shamrock Run events.

Mr. Steele is survived by his wife Delona Steele, of Troutdale, OR, three sons, Arnie Steele and his wife Fiona, of Happy Valley, OR., Eugene Dittler, Newberg, OR. and Gary Dittler, Louisiana, four grandchildren, Tiffany and Orion Dittler, Ben and Brooke Steele. Mr. Steele was preceded in death by 1 grandson Charles Dittler.

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon. Private Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, August 23rd from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesday from 9am – 5 pm at the funeral home.
