Gladys was born to Wm. Claude and Elsie VanHoy in Ore. City, the eldest of five children.
Gladys is survived by her three children, Marlene Noble, Gary Negelspach and Dave Reed, her three sisters, Virginia Buggins, Ollie May Kraft and Idabelle Shoemaker, her 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her brother Ken preceded her in death.
In 1982 Gladys retired after 40 years of service as a cafeteria manager, first at one, then at two high schools. She also led a platoon in the berry fields for 39 years. She loved her home, was an avid gardener and enjoyed visiting with family and friends when delivering her fresh baked cookies.
A celebration of her life will on Saturday, January 25th at 1:30 pm at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, 5441 SE Belmont, Portland, OR. Donations may be given to the church or charity of choice.
