Haldin "Hal" W. Dietz

Haldin “Hal” W. Dietz, 66 of Portland OR passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. He was born October 12, 1949 in San Diego, CA to Frederick and Patricia Dietz. He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School and then attended the University of California-San Diego. Hal was a career Navy veteran serving from 1970 until his retirement in 1994 as a Lieutenant. He then worked as a physician assistant for Kaiser before retiring in 2008. Hal married Sharon McDougal-Jensen and they lived in Portland OR. Hal was an avid reader; loved music and animals; and was a gun and motorcycle enthusiast.

Hal is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter Alexis Dietz of Chula Vista CA; son Jared Dietz (Jessica) of Hurricane UT; stepdaughter Chelsea Holicky (Chris) of Oregon City OR; sister Brookes Thogerson (Jeff) of Camas WA and grandchildren Kelsea, Elizabeth, Angela, Daisia and Weston.

A Celebration of Hal’s Life will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham, OR with Military Honors to follow at 1:00pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
