Helen Ruth Kuykendall Nelson

Helen attended Gresham High School. She moved to Oregon in 1949. Helen had been a long time Gresham resident. Helen married Randolph Nelson on November 5, 1983 in Gresham, Oregon. She was a kindergarten teacher. Helen was a member of the Greater Gresham Baptist Church.

Hobbies included guitar playing, singing, was a song writer, painted pictures, crocheting, loved hats, loved being a mom, grandmother, great grandmother and her favorite color for sure was purple.

Survivors include her loving husband Randolph Nelson, of Gresham, OR., son, Tim Porter, of Gresham, OR., daughter, Patricia Walter, of Sandy, OR., daughter, Kimberly Fergerson, of Bend, OR., brother, Jim Parrack, of Portland, OR., six grandchildren who are Matt, Michael, Kris, Melissa, Ethan and Lauren, and five great grandchildren.

Donations may be given to the Greater Gresham Baptist Church, 3848 NE Division St. in Gresham, Oregon.

Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A Memorial service will be on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Greater Gresham Baptist Church, 3848 NE Division St. in Gresham
