James O. Shepherd, 78, was born in Cumberland, KY to Delmas and Sylvania Shepherd on December 9, 1932. He died November 17, 2011 in Sandy, OR. In 1952 he married Shirley Kilgore in Wise, VA and they moved to Gresham, OR in 1954. Shirley passed away in 1956 after a long illness. In 1957 he married Leona Freisheim and after 50 years of marriage she lost her battle with life in 2007. James leaves behind a son and daughter in law, Robert and Sondra Shepherd of Deer Park, TX; 3 daughters, Patti Shepherd of Fairview, OR; Susan Shepherd of Hermiston, OR, and Nancy Shepherd of Sandy, OR; as well as a granddaughter, Casey, and four grandsons, Steven, Joshua, Jeremy and Trevor. No services will be held, but viewing will be at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home on Friday, November 18th from 3-5PM. Arrangements under the direction of Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, Gresham, OR.
