

Jan Marie Sordello passed away at her home in Sandy on May 27th, 2016. She was born on September 14th, 1957 in Portland, Oregon, to her parents: Dean and Lucile (Schmitz) Schneider. She attended Sandy High School, and graduated in 1975. Durin her time at Sandy High, she was the yearbook editor, she was in charge of the ad’s for the school newspaper, and she was a member of the golf and volleyball team as well. Jan then attended Mt. Hood Community College, and she received a certificate in their Occupational Therapy Program.
On April 17th, 1993, Jan married the love of her life, Robert J. Sordello. They were married for fourteen years until he passed in 2007 from Pancreatic Cancer.
In her 40’s, Jan was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although it was a daily struggle, she did her best to stay positive and enjoy life. She continued her employment with Small Parts Manufacturing until her passing.
Jan was an active member of the community. She attended the Abundant Life Church in Sandy, and she was involved in facilitating her class reunions. She was also a member of the yearbook club. Jan loved sports, and she was a season ticket holder with the Trailblazers for many years. She also enjoyed attending car shows, using Facebook to connect with family and friends, and doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She will always be remembered for her generous spirit and kind ways. Jan and Robert were active members of the retired greyhound rescue, and they adopted three of their own.
Jan was preceded in passing by her husband. She is survived by her parents, Dean and Lucile Schneider; her sisters and their husbands, Julie Ryan (Mike) and Debbie Flippen (Dave); her brother and his wife, Phil Schneider (Holly); her nieces and nephews, McKenzie Flippen, Josiah Flippen, Logan Flippen, Ryan Schneider, Megan Schneider, and Nicole Schneider; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend, Terri Rader Anderson. She was loved and will be missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Jan will be laid to rest with her husband at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
