John Eugene Biddlecome was a man of few words and steady presence — a man who showed his love through action, loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility.
Born in 1937, he grew up with a strong work ethic that began early — mowing lawns and sweeping floors at just 14. That same drive carried him through a long and honorable career in trucking, and later, decades of service in the Oregon Air National Guard. He often said he loved his time in the Air Force so much that if they took old guys, he’d rejoin in a heartbeat.
John married Leona Montgomery in 1961, and together they raised three children: Debbie, John, and Teri. He also had a daughter, Melinda, who brought her own light into his life. After Leona’s passing, John found love again with Caleen, and their years together were filled with travel, laughter, and companionship.
He loved shuffleboard, golf, and cheering on his favorite teams. But more than anything, he loved his family. He was the kind of father who showed up — with big hugs, quiet wisdom, and a heart that always made room for more.
He didn’t seek the spotlight. He didn’t boast. He simply lived with integrity, curiosity, and a deep devotion to those he loved.
We remember his stories, his strength, and the way he made us feel safe just by being there. We remember his laughter with Arlene and Bruce, his adventures with Caleen, and the way he lit up when surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
John’s legacy lives on in the values he passed down: work hard, stay humble, love your family, and never stop exploring.
With love and gratitude from Debbie, John, Teri, and Melinda.
With love and cherished memories from his wife, Caleen.
Forever in our hearts.
