John was born on September 25, 1957 in Portland, Oregon and was the son of Jack and Betty Harrison. He grew up in Portland and graduated from Benson Tech High School. He also attended college in the Portland Area.
John worked for the Gresham Police Department for 25 years retiring in 2010 as a Sergeant. He was currently working for Kaiser Permanente as a security officer.
He enjoyed golfing, reading, camping and playing on his wave runners. He adored his dogs and was a huge family man who embraced people with open arms and a loving demeanor. He was always there to lend a helping hand and worked hard to make the lives of the less fortunate a little easier. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his son, John Harrision II and his grandchildren, Jaxson and Ainsley Harrison all of Clackamas.
A visitation will be held on of Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions may be made in memory of John to the American Heart Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
