John C. Hill

John C. Hill, 83, of Gresham, passed away January 1, 2016. He was born to Fletcher and Agnes (Nagel) Hill on February 27, 1932 and was raised with five siblings in Coal Hill, Arkansas. John joined the Air Force following high school to help support his family. He married the love of his life, Larrita Cermack, on January 12, 1952 and together they raised three children. John retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a roadway machinist. John had a passion for spending time with family, fishing, golfing, and gardening. Both he and his wife had a very special place in their hearts for their grandchildren and great grandchildren. John will be remembered for his deep love of fishing, which he shared with his wife, great sense of humor, soft spoken personality, and the love he shared with all who knew him. John is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Larrita; siblings, Wanda, Juanita, and Lloyd. He is survived by his children, Debra (Paul) Bain; Oleta (Ron) Fountain; John (Amy) Hill; sisters, Oleta and Beulah; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He will be forever in our hearts. A funeral service will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 12th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Adventist Hospice in memory of John C Hill.
