John Eldon Peterson

John Eldon Peterson, 41 of Portland OR, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born on December 8, 1972 in Portland, Oregon to John Robert and Marida Alice (Bevens) Peterson. He was a former resident of Gresham and attended Centennial High School where he was active in Marching Band and Football. John excelled in retail sales and training. He loved outdoor sports including camping, fishing, dirt biking and snow skiing

John is survived by his sons John Josiah Peterson of Gresham OR and Justin Pitts of South Carolina; father John R. Peterson (Amy) of Portland OR; mother Marida Peterson of Portland OR; sisters Wendy-Lin Peterson of West Salem OR, Heidi Peterson Hanson (Kyle) of San Jose CA and Marida Berg of Portland OR and nephew Dakota Berg of Portland OR. John will always be remembered as a Dad and Uncle and Loyal Friend to many.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Oregon Buddhist Temple, 3720 SE 34th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97202. Contributions may be made to the Morrison Center, 1818 SE Division, Portland OR 97202 or at www.morrisonkids.org or by donating blood to the American Red Cross. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
