Kenneth Ken Dean Burkholder

Kenneth Dean Burkholder Jr. passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the home of his brother Dale in Corbett. Ken had been suffering from lung disease. A fourth generation Oregonian in the Corbett area Kenneth was born on November 1, 1945 to Kenneth Dean, Sr. and Zola Dayton Burkholder. Kenneth graduated from Corbett High School

Ken loved fishing and gardening and was a cherished friend of many. He had a warm smile and witty greeting to all he met. Ken served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sisters Linda Thompson of Sherwood, Darlene Froese of Troutdale and brothers Dennis of Gresham, Dale of Corbett, and Darryl of Wemme. His children include Jamie Lynn McCall of Los Angeles, Wendy Leone Greene of Boise, Courtney Bayley, Allison Shisler and Sam Burkholder all from the Portland area and his granddaughter Elizabeth and numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Remembrances may go to the Corbett Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice.

A Memorial service will be on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corbett Community Church.

Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
