

Kenneth Allen Palmer Jr., a resident of Gresham, Oregon, died on March 13, 2010 in Gresham. He was 47 years of age.
Ken was born on October 1, 1962 in Portland, Oregon and was the son of Kenneth Sr. and Elaine (Woods) Palmer. He was raised in Sandy, Oregon and at age 12, he moved to Alaska. He returned to Sandy where he attended Sandy High School. He completed his GED in 1997.
Ken dabbled in various jobs throughout the Portland Area and settled as a Shop Forman for Oregon Wire. He was employed there for 3 years.
Ken married Sue Flury on July 12, 1997 at Blue Lake in Troutdale, Oregon. They were later divorced but remained good friends and close companions.
Ken lived a majority of his life in East County residing in Fairview for many years and in Gresham for the past 3 years.
He had many hobbies that filled his free time. He enjoyed drag racing and Nascar as well as fishing and cooking. He was also in the beginning stages of tracing his family heritage. Ken was a wonderful, kind and giving person that strived to help his friends and family. He loved kids and animals; especially Oscar the miniature wiener dog. He made time to volunteer with Loaves and Fishes and also belonged to AA.
He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Sue Flury of Fairview, mother and step-father; Elaine and Arthur Knori of Gresham, father, Kenneth A. Palmer Sr. of Houston, TX, brothers, Jeff Palmer of Kalama, WA, Eric Palmer of Salem and Nathan Palmer of Bend, OR and sister; Kendra Sacca of New York along with 1 aunt, numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Lula Woods.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions may be made in memory of Ken to Loaves and Fishes.
