

Lawrence “Larry” Bush was a beloved husband, father, friend, and Vietnam Veteran. He passed away on August 30, 2024 at age 74.
Larry was born to Maury and Vi Bush on October 3, 1949. He lived his younger life in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. He even spent time living in Panama as his father was in the military.
After graduating from Reynolds High School, Larry would spend much of his time surfing on the Oregon Coast.
At age 19 he was drafted to the Vietnam War to serve as a combat medic for the U.S. Army with B Troop 2-1 CAV 1st PLT. During his R&R he flew to Hawaii to marry his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Pam.
Once Larry returned home from war, he and Pam spent their lives raising their 3 children in Gresham, Oregon. He worked as a paramedic for 40 years with Buck Ambulance which later became AMR. He also spent many years serving as a medic for motocross events throughout Oregon and Washington and for Cycle Oregon.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed boating, water skiing, surfing, playing guitar, and woodworking. He was always quite the creative artist. In his later years he found joy in redesigning his guitars and making unique plant displays.
Larry dedicated his life to service, both in the military, and in his community. He saved countless lives during his time as a medic. He received many awards and honors due to his lifetime of heroism. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Army Commendation Medal, to name a few.
Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pam; his children, Josh, Seth, Libby (Dereck); and his grandson, Blake.
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.
