Lois Lee Metzger, 85 of Gresham OR, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016. She was born on October 10, 1930 in Portland, Oregon to Roy and Lettie (Pulfer) Crabtree. She married Thomas Allen Metzger on October 29, 1949 in Portland, Oregon and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2012. Her husband was the last of eleven kids and Lois was the last remaining spouse of the family. The Metzger property was well known for the garden and apple orchard. Lois enjoyed her gardening, sewing and reading.
Lois is survived by her daughter Nancy Haase (Bill) of Gresham OR; son Gordon Metzger of Portland OR and grandsons Edward Haase of Gresham OR and Brian Haase of Oregon City OR. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her sister Joyce Headley in 2003.
A Celebration of Lois’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham, Oregon. Private interment was at Willamette National Cemetery.
