

Who is Lorraine “Pete” Redifer?
She was born on a farm in Sherwood along with 6 siblings, has lived on a houseboat at Jantzen Beach, an apartment in the Hollywood district, with a couple of stops in between.
She has been married, divorced, has 2 daughters Jonni and Joanne, 1 son, Kenny and his wife LeeAnn, 4 Grandkids, Carrie, Derek, Jody and Bryce, and 4 great-grand kids, Madison, Blake, Arabella and Sage.
Pete has been a day care operator with 15 kids, a seamstress and tailor working for Penney’s and Norm Thompson, while having her own business “For Pete’s Sake” specializing in clothing alterations.
She has traveled extensively all over the world, by train, planes, cars and boats. She has taken 14 cruises with her friends.
Pete has volunteered extensively in the Portland area making receiving blankets and gathering yarn to knit baby hats for babies at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Pete belonged to a sorority that sponsored an alternative school called The Community Transitional School on Killingsworth St in NE Portland. Her group gathered clothes, and had fundraisers to become one of the school’s biggest sponsors.
Pete loves people and they love her. At her former assisted living facility, Summerplace, she was known to have the most visitors they had ever seen! Pete was even able to be in Summerplace’s TV advertisement recently. She loves funny socks and used to have quite a collection which included some naughty ones! Pete likes to have a good time and once went bar hopping on Halloween in a devil’s costume!
