Marcy Geraldine Parks, 93 of Gresham OR, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014. She was born on January 6, 1921 in Walla Walla, Washington to Harold and Helen (Zink) Cherry. She attended Beaumont Grade School and was active in the reunion committee throughout her life.
Marcy started singing professionally at the age of 16 and continued her singing career for thirty-four years. Marcy retired from singing when she married Johnny Parks in 1972.
She married Julian Dreyer in 1941, they had two children, Sandra Dreyer of Tualatin and Steven Dreyer of Eugene. They divorced in 1956 and she then married Lloyd Johnson and together they had one child, Kimberly Anne Shade of Portland. Marcy is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Marcy’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham, Oregon.
Private interment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made as donations in Marcy Parks name to the Oregon Humane Society.
