

Margaret “Peggy” Babcock, 92, of Portland, passed away April 17, 2016. Peggy was born in Portland to Peter & Madge (Berryman) Kershisnik. She was raised with one sibling, Janet. Peggy graduated from Jefferson High School and also attended Vanport College. Peggy was proud of her service in the US Marines. She served for 4 years as a recruiter. During her time in the military she met the love of her life Floyd R. Babcock. They got married in 1952 and together they raised 3 children. Great conversationalist, fiery but loving, and devoted wife, mother and grandmother are just a few of the many words used to describe Peggy. Peggy was an avid reader and she enjoyed shopping and collecting greeting cards. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Floyd, and daughter, Margaret and sister, Janet. She is survived by her sons, Peter (Linda) & Chris (Jennifer); grandchildren, Katie (Nathan); Lukas (Ashley), Collin, Sean (Elyse), Ellie (JP); Sheena (Dru), Angela (Evan), & Allison; great grandchildren, Ciera, Caleb, Gabriel, Logan, Eli, Owen, Annahbelle, Madelyn, & Nash; and niece, Laura. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. John Bauer and the staff of Marquis Mt. Tabor for the care they provided to Peggy and the family over the last several years. Peggy will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery. A private committal service will be held.
