

Margaret Avonne Ide, age 89, died peacefully at the Somerset Assisted Living Community in Gladstone, Oregon, on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Margaret passed away of natural causes. Margaret was the second of five children born to John G. and Vera M. Miller. She was born in Portland, Oregon, and attended Oakley Green and Multnomah Grade Schools, Girls Polytechnic HS, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1943. Margaret attended Multnomah Presbyterian Church as a child, and was later a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham, and Ascension Lutheran Church in Rockwood. She was a past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters, as were her three sisters. An avid gardener, Margaret was a longtime member of the Rockwood Petal Pushers Club. Survivors include her children, Dennis Ide and Deanna Rohrer, seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, sister, Patricia Hutyra, and nieces Janelle Serafin and Jeannine May, and nephew John May – children of her late sister, Jacqueline May, and several grandnephews and grandnieces. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, brother, Bill Miller, and sisters, Kathleen Miller and Jacqueline May. Relatives and friends are invited to a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service, from noon to 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions are welcome and will provide Bibles for Zimbabwe.
