Michael Ora Davis Sr.

Michael Ora Davis Sr. (Mike) was born to Ora John and Patricia Jean Davis on January 16, 1948, in Salem, OR. He moved to Portland Oregon when he was 7 years old, where he went to Arleta Elementary and Middle school and attended Franklin High School.

He was in the United States Navy from 1965 – 1969 and served in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked for Zidell for 7 years, then worked for Acme Trading and Supply until they were purchased by Calbag Metals. He retired after 34 years in 2011.

Mike enjoyed hunting, bowling, camping, and shuffleboard. He also enjoyed going on cruises.

He married Kathryn Sue Garrison (Kathy) in 1980, and they were married for 44 years. They raised 5 children (Michael Jr, Walter, Billy, Jeanna, and Janelle). He is survived by four of his children (Michael, Billy, Jeanna, and Janelle), his two brothers, his sister, nieces, nephews, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Patricia Davis who passed away as an infant, his son Walter (2024), and his wife Kathy, who passed away just before him on August 5, 2025.

Mike was loved by many and leaves a legacy of intangible memories. We will miss his cantankerous sense of humor, teasing jokes, and heart of gold.
