Nadine R. Stephens

Nadine Stephens, 89, former resident of Gresham, passed away June 20, 2016. She was born in Eugene, OR on November 11, 1926 to Ray and Gladys (Manley) Wells and she was raised with one sibling in Eugene and was an accomplished pianist in her youth. Nadine graduated from Eugene High School and attended Pepperdine University. She met her soon to be husband, Sammy Stephens, during her time at Pepperdine. They married on May 7th, 1948 and together they raised three children. Nadine held a career in accounting as a book keeper. She was a longtime member of the Metro Church of Christ located in Gresham. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and caring for her family. Nadine will be remembered for the care and support she showed her children and for making holidays special and memorable. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Sammy; parents, Raymond and Gladys; and children, Jerry and Dyana. She is survived by her son, Larry (Diane); brother, Bob; grandchildren, Laura Campbell, Julie Marcam, Matthew Stephens, Candace Boardman, Adam Clark, Carissa Mills and 12 great grandchildren. Nadine will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery with her husband and son.
