Patricia "Pattie" Ann Moore Botteron entered the world on December 20th. 1953. She was born to Adeline Sorensen Moore and George Moore of Portland, Oregon. Thereafter, the family put up their Christmas tree each year on her birthday.
Pattie attended West Powellhurst Elementary, Gilbert Middle, and Floyd Light Middle School. She graduated David Douglas High School in 1972. The graduating class was 801; the ceremony was held at the Memorial Coliseum.
During her high school career, Pattie was an outstanding artist, vocalist, and member of the theatre department. She was also active in the youth group at Greater Portland Bible Church. As a musician she not only sang, but played the piano and the guitar, doing all three with notable skill.
Her career centered on banking. She was an employee of First Interstate Bank, later Wells Fargo. On 9-11 she had the experience of being evacuated from the Wells Fargo Bank Tower in downtown Portland, as fears of subsequent attacks concerned the country.
Every subject matter interested her throughout her life; natural science, history, current events, literature, and of course music and art. She was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction, and an avid movie watcher. There wasn’t a single song in the history of musical theatre that escaped her notice. She was fond of dogs, but her first love among animals was cats.
She also enjoyed the domestic arts: Cooking, gardening, sewing, and decorating . She was an accomplished stained glass artist as well. Of all the domestic arts, being a mother and a grandmother were her undoubted favorites. She was grateful to be blessed with two daughters, two granddaughters, and two grandsons. She realized a life-long dream in 2006 when she spent two weeks in Ireland.
Pattie is survived by her husband Bill Botteron of Portland; her daughters Melanie Patterson of Vancouver and Hilary Patterson of Camas, Washington; her sister Jenney Moore of West Linn; her cousin Jo Webb of Forest Grove, Oregon; a niece, four grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Her intelligence, thoughtfulness, and fabulous sense of humor were sources of joy to everyone who knew her.
