Paul Preston Bush Junior arrived on this earth December 11, 1925 in Vicksburg MS, and grew up in Gadsden AL. He served in the US Army Air Corps in WWII as a waist gunner on a B-17. During his time in the service, he met the love of his life Marion Vernelle Cisco, whom he lovingly referred to as “Vernie Mae”. They were married September 1, 1945 in Kansas City Kansas. Their first home was in Tuscaloosa AL where he attended the University of Alabama. He also became an avid, lifelong Crimson Tide fan - “Roll Tide”! Paul had a career in the dairy industry, working as salesman for Darigold for 27 years before retiring in 1987.
Bird hunting, fishing and golf were Paul’s passion, and he spent as many weekends as possible on the river and the golf course, frequently with his sons. He also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and Palm Springs.
Paul and Vernie Mae had three children, Gary Michael Bush of Tigard, OR, Paula Vernon (Donald) of Salt Lake City, UT and Daniel Bush of Gresham, OR. They have three grandchildren, Sidney Bush of Tigard, LTJG Mitchell Vernon, USN, of Atsugi, Japan and Phillip Vernon of Salt lake City. He had 3 sisters Kathleen Williams, Betty Bridges (deceased), and Melba Buttram, all of Gadsden AL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul passed away after a brief, gallant struggle with septic shock resulting in renal failure. He passed July 12 at his home with family at his side.
