

Phyllis Giusto-Martin, daughter of Giobatta and Frances Giusto, formerly of Gresham, Oregon passed away November 10, 2017 in her home in Vancouver, Washington.
Phyllis was born October 2, 1934 in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Gresham. She graduated from Gresham High School and later married Earl Lee Martin in 1960. She and Earl moved to Baker City, Oregon where they raised their six children until Earl’s death in 1973.
Phyllis remained in Baker City after Earl’s death where her children attended Baker Public Schools and Phyllis worked at the Baker Hotel and as a Homemaker. Phyllis was an active parent and supported all of her children’s activities including BMX bike racing, Motocross, football, volleyball, tennis and weight lifting.
Phyllis was an avid sports fan and followed the Portland Trailblazers, Notre Dame football, The Oregon Ducks and her alma mater The Gresham Gophers football. She also enjoyed traveling, riding ATV’s, camping and gardening.
Phyllis moved back to Portland in 1988 and worked as a bartender for Jolly Rogers until her retirement in 2002. She was voted Bartender of the Year in 2000.
Phyllis is survived by her sons Randy of Portland, Earl Martin Jr. of Portland, Rick (wife Sarah) of Tigard and Jeff (wife Wanda) of Baker City. Her daughter is Theresa (husband Scott) of Camas, Washington. Phyllis has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Evelyn, brothers, Marion and Frank (Bob), husband Earl, son John and nephew Kenny Giusto.
A memorial service for Phyllis will take place at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 9AM.
Phyllis will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
