Robert was born on May 9, 1927 in Portland. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served aboard the troop ship U.S. General D.E. Aultman. He worked 32 years for Tektronix, retiring in 1983.
Robert married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Ferland, in 1950. They were married for 64 years. His wife preceded him in death in 2014.
Surviving are his daughter, Jean Radford of Damascus; son, Gary Livingston of Salem; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Private burial was in Willamette National Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be to a charity of choice.
