Roger Carlton Reardon, a proud veteran, devoted family man, and passionate historian, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89 on August 9, 2025.
Born in Oregon on February 11, 1936, Roger lived a life full of purpose, dedication, and love. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force, an experience that shaped his strong character and deep sense of duty.
After his military service, he worked at Oregon Air Tool for 20 years, where he was known for his hardworking spirit, sharp mind, and steady hands. Outside of work, he had a deep love for classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, often found tinkering in the garage or cruising with a smile on his face.
A passionate genealogist, he spent countless hours tracing not only his own roots but helping others discover their family histories. His dedication to preserving the past helped many people understand where they came from and brought families closer together.
He was the proud father of four children, grandfather to 15, and great-grandfather to 22. Family was the center of his life, and he cherished every moment spent surrounded by loved ones. He also shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Smokey, who was always by his side.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife and our mother, June Darline Reardon (Gilfillan), his son Jeri, and his grandson Steven Lee Nagle. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and curiosity that will live on through his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
