She was conceived in Burnt Woods, a small dispersed community west of Corvallis Oregon north of Mary’s Peak. Sarah was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis Oregon on November 28, 1981. Afterwards she moved to Philomath Oregon, a town west of Corvallis. Later she moved to Gresham Oregon and after a few years the family moved to Troutdale, Oregon where Sarah would live till after high school.
She began school at age three at Morning Star Montessori. Her elementary years were spent at the Franciscan Montessori Earth School. There after she graduated from Reynolds High School. She held a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Portland State University. Additionally, she earned an Associate of Applied Science Paralegal from Portland Community College.
At the time of her passing she was employed by the firm Harrang Long PC. She enjoyed her work. She was passionate about law and inspired from a young age by her late Grandfather Tom Churchill who was an attorney.
Sarah had a large loving extended family scattered across the United States and in Oregon. Many wonderful memories of holidays and trips filled with family will live on. Memories of summers in Chicago at Grandpa Tony’s and Grandma Pat’s pool with cousins. Holidays at the “kid’s table” in Salem where her Grandparents Marian and Tom Churchill resided are also some family favorites.
Sarah had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like a valuable family member. Sarah had many cats over the years from Zenobia, Coco, Karma, and Kashmir. Each one brought her love and joy.
Sarah had many friends in different phases of her life, but always seemed to find kind, caring, and compassionate people to share her time with. She spoke highly of her friends and cared deeply for them in return.
Everyone who knew Sarah knew how much she loved toy collecting. She would attend major conventions and get to know the artist personally. She had a collection of Legos and Duplo’s that she had held onto from childhood. Her hobby evolved into a beautiful collection and earned her the nickname Bootleg Queen.
Sarah will always be remembered for her bright spirit and the way she could light up a room. We could not have asked for a better daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. We will miss Sarah every day. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
Sarah is survived by her mother, Mary Ellen Churchill; father, Tom Churchill; sister, Kara Davies; niece, Hannah Davies; and brother-in-law, John Davies.
