He went on to see all different countries and very different cultures all over the world.Never meeting a stranger only a new friend. As a second generation born here were immigrants. MY uncle and I really thought that was the most amazing and coolest thing! His father came from Yugoslavia now Croatia today, coming through Germany at the time fleeing from persecution of faith! Very similar stories to the Calvinist and puritans who came here back in the 1600’s. Being as Matě grandfathers brother and Ante my grandfather owned a grocery in Germany during a lot of uprising. It led Stephen to not only have a great taste for cuisine but a fine love of all things German and Eastern European! He’d import speciality alcohols and foods from the home country. Going to happy hour at Gustavs or the Rheinlander. We both had a deep connection to German anything, my mother Lynne and Stephen would tell me as a child if you could lift a Beer Stein full of Beer in Germany we could drink it doesn’t matter the age. Stephen collected Beer Steins, I loved that about Him, I’d often find a stein while thrifting and pick it up for him. He was such an open minded pioneering spirit for women’s rights! When I’d show interest in a more masculine role or a sport he’d always encourage me. Most men his age and even men today really don’t do that for women. So Stephen it’s international women’s day today  and I find it the most fitting don’t you? He has a long standing commitment to Hugh Hefners pioneering magazine show casing sex culture more like how Europe is. Seeing the progress of that magazine leafing through them is a story about America and how much we’ve changed. All we can guarantee is that tomorrow will bring change and taxes! Stephen Petricevic! May he be holding a Large Stein full of the best of Germany’s Beer, A shot of Šljivovica to wash it down, while chowing on some spatzle Alfredo with fondue and brown bread, petting Dante, seeing us here celebrating him, he’d be smiling ear to ear
