Thelma was a graduate of Nehalem High School. Early on in her career she was a nurse. During WWII she worked in the Portland Shipyards as a “Rosie the Riveter”
.
Thelma enjoyed sewing, knitting, and raising violets and orchids.
She volunteered at Adventist Medical Center.
Thelma is survived by her two sons, Lauren and his wife Kathy Johnson, Portland, OR., Gary Johnson, Portland, OR., and grandson Michael Johnson, San Diego, CA.
Funeral service will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 1-5 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
