

Virginia Rae Vojta passed away at her home in Damascus on June 30, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to parents George and Tena Pearsall. Virginia was raised in Mineapolis, Minnisota, and moved to Oregon in the 1950s. She was married to Joseph Vojta in 1950, and together they shared 54 years of marriage until his passing in 2004. Together they had 6 children.Virginia was a loving wife and mother. She smiled often, though she could be quiet and shy in her younger years. She was a second mother to all the neighborhood children, and always put her famliy first. She enjoyed cooking for her family and doing needlepoint crafts.
Virginia is survived by her children Leslie Cannon of Damascus, OR, Lee Vojta of Pendleton, OR, Lanette (Mike) Burdic of West Yellow Stone, MT, Larry Vojta of Sandy, OR, Lorinda (Jim) Gieler of Sandy, OR, and Lanell (Michael) Martinez of Antelope, CA; as well as her 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A public visitation will be held on Thursday July 11 from 1-5pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held on Friday July 12 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
