

Mr. Turner was born on November 10, 1926, in Concord to the late Otis and Mae Johnson Turner. He is a retired Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the 82nd Airborne and served in the Korean War. He was also owner of Turner’s Grocery Store in Concord, and a member of Friendship Presbyterian Church. He loved to fish, travel, and most of all, spend time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cara Lynn Turner.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Cribb Turner; daughters, Kay and Charlie Lewis of Columbus, Melba and Danny Cox of Hampton, Jo and Thomas Butler of Zebulon and Lisa and Ken Bleckley of Lawrenceville; five grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Jack, Ben, Marie, and Chuck and three great grandchildren, Daniel, Katelynn and Cameron.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Sanctuary of Friendship Presbyterian Church in Concord. Rev. Bob Matthews will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
