

Mrs. Johnson was born February 27, 1933 in Griffin, daughter of the late Thomas E. Woodward and the late Myrtie Bunn Woodward. She was a member of the Midway Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. Mrs. Johnson retired from C.A. Kendrick Construction Company and Thomas Travel Agency. She was a 1950 Valedictorian Graduate of Spalding High School. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the United Methodist Women and a member of Young at Heart at Griffin First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Johnson and sister, Peggy Cleghorn.
Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law, Lynn & Michael Turner of Griffin, Beth & Fred Tatum of Griffin and Kay Campbell & Scott Wimpy of Griffin; grandchildren, C.J. & Rebecca Crane, Brandy Tatum, Mark & Courtney Tatum, Paige & Caleb Hill, Megan Campbell, Jason Turner, Jessica Orr, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty W. Johnson will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Midway United Methodist Church. Rev. Terry Hunter will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Midway United Methodist Church, 2517 High Falls Rd., Griffin, GA 30223 in memory of Mrs. Johnson.
