Betty Wright Steger

Mrs. Steger was born December 29, 1936 in Griffin to the late Melvin Eugene and Marie Ridgeway Wright. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orchard Hill. Mrs. Steger was a great cook and loved baking cakes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Wright, Larry Wright and Myrl Wright and sisters, Elizabeth McDaniel and Sara Evans.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Steger; sons & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Sharon Steger of Sparta and Perry Steger of Griffin; grandchildren, Jason Steger, Bret Steger, Shana Needham, Brantley Steger and Chad Steger; great-grandchildren, Ava Faye & Presley Rose Steger, Brooklynn & Savannah Steger, Kimberly & Gracie Robertson, Peyton & Madison Needham and Landon & Gracie Steger; brother, Edgar Wright of Orchard Hill and sister, Brenda McNeal of Milner.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Betty Wright Steger will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Westwood Gardens. Pastor Nelson Grist will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Mrs. Steger.
