Chester Lanier Dailey

Mr. Dailey was born November 14, 1930, son of the late Curtis & Olivia Betts Dailey. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 15 years and a former long-time member of Mt. View Baptist Church in Mt. View, GA where he also served as Deacon. Mr. Dailey was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Delta Airlines after 38 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Merle Cates Dailey; children & their spouses, Cherl Dailey Lowman & Alan Lowman, Lane Dailey, Clay & Rhonda Dailey; grandchildren, Olivia & Hunter Lowman and Hayden & Carson Dailey and sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Bob Bowers.

Funeral services for Mr. Chester Lanier Dailey will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Rev. Fred Thompson, Rev. Jim Hardee and Rev. Harvey Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 14550 Hwy. 19, Griffin, GA 30224 in memory of Mr. Dailey.
