Mr. Long was born April 7, 1949 in Griffin to the late Curtis Carlton Long and the late Marie Turner Long. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was wounded in combat in Vietnam.
Survivors include sons, Greg Long and Ryan Long; sisters, Nancy Mobley, Peggy Messer, Diane Lewis and Donna Spies; brother, Jimmy Long; grandchildren, Peyton Long, Maddisyn Long, Seth Brooks and Chloe Bonnette.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Messer will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
