

She was born in Griffin on June 4, 1942 to the late Clarence and Tommie Polk. She is preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Luanne Lindsey, daughter Linda Luanne Conkle and granddaughter Niki Luanne Conkle. Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics and reading.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years John R. Lindsey, Jr.; children, Chris and Betty Browning, Judy McDaniel, Ricky and Vanessa Lindsey; grandchildren, John McDaniel, Eric Lindsey, Phillip Lindsey, Karlee Lindsey and Austin Conkle; sisters and brothers, Mary Ann Morgan, Johnny and Joan Polk, William and Betty Jones; extended family, Phillip and Kristin Hill along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Lindsey will be conducted on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Lawrence Burge will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her daughter at Rock Springs Congregational Methodist Church in Lamar County. Friends may visit the family on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
