Mrs. Kurtz was born to the late Robert Stuart Ogletree, Sr. and Catharine Sibley Ogletree. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Kurtz. During her lifetime, she was an active member of many organizations including St. George's Episcopal Church, St. George's Episcopal Church Women and Altar Guild, The Garden Club of Griffin, Griffin Utility Club, Daughters of the Confederacy, various Bridge clubs and Dominoes Club. She was a well-known local portrait artist and still life artist. She also taught Humanities and Art classes at Griffin High School.
She is survived by her brother Robert Stuart Ogletree, Jr, sister-in-law Martha Ogletree, daughter Catharine Elizabeth Bozeman, son-in-law Tony Bozeman, son Jonathan Paul Kurtz, son Timothy Michael Kurtz, daughter-in-law Michelle Kurtz, grandchildren Kristin Avery, Jonathan Michael Kurtz, Margaret Ruenbanthoeng, Taylor Kurtz, Samantha Kurtz, great-grandchildren Benjamin and Cate Avery, and Jameson Ruenbanthoeng, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Ogletree Kurtz will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church
on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 3pm. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Ga. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. George's Memorial Fund or
any local charity.
