

Mrs. Hendrix was born September 21, 1925 daughter of the late Ernest L. Preston, Sr. and the late Cora McCart Preston. She was a member of the Griffin First United Methodist Church, Young at Heart and was currently attending Faith United Methodist Church in Riverdale where she was very supportive of her son’s ministry. Mrs. Hendrix retired from the William Carter Company after 35 years of service. She was a very loving person living her life with grace & dignity and was loved by everyone that knew her. She never met a stranger. Mrs. Hendrix’s home was always open and full of hospitality. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Chapman and granddaughter, Tina Chapman.
Survivors include her children & their spouses, Sandra Davis, Brenda & Ernie Sutton, Tim & Frances Chapman, Sid Chapman and David Chapman; grandchildren, Steve & Julie Davis, Todd & Jennifer Davis, Chris Sutton, Shawn Sutton, Andrea & Brian Marks, Hollie Chapman & Keith Ballard, Brian & Jennifer Chapman, Amanda Chapman and Brian & Tomi Mangram;10 great-grandchildren and her special black lab, Abby.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Dr. Richard Lumpkin, Rev. Kevin Lobello, Rev. Joseph Casteel and Rev. Sid Chapman will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
