

He and his wife Faye were married July 17, 1948, in Topeka, Ks. He is survived by Faye Bailey, his wife of 64 years; his son Don and his wife Peggy and their son Blair; Rick and his wife Debbie and daughters Erin and Nicole; Roy Bailey and his wife Elizabeth and their two sons Roy II and Jonathan.
During his working career Mr. Bailey was a farmer, an Aircraft Engine Mechanic, Welder, Pilot, an FAA Aircraft Inspector and a Pan Am Flight Engineer for 34 years. He retired as Check Engineer Instructor on the Boeing 747 Airliner and had traveled all over the world. He was an avid adventurer at heart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Jim Lane will officiate. Friends may visit the family Friday from 10 – 11 a.m.
He and his wife were members of the Sojourners organization and he served others by helping repair church buildings, youth camps and children’s homes and was known for his willingness to help others in need. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in memory of him be sent to Raintree Village Children’s Home in Valdosta, Georgia at 3757 Johnston Rd. Valdosta, GA 31601.
