

Mrs. Deignan was born in Palm Bay, Florida on March 7, 1928. She is preceded in death by husband, Harry Code Deignan; parents, Anton Michels and Lucille Owens Michels; son, Steven Daniel Deignan; twin sister, Josephine VonHerbulis; sisters, Antoinette Haig, Maryann Senart; and brothers T.J. Michels and John Michels.
Mrs. Deignan was married to Harry Code Deignan for 63 years. They were married at All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford, Florida on Sept. 17, 1949. She is also survived by eight
children and their spouses- Donna Lange of Atlanta, David and Debbie Deignan of Macon,
Linda and Keith Killingsworth of Jackson, Marianne and Brian Bieder of Hoschton, John and Ginger Deignan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Jimmy and Sharen Deignan of Bella Vista, Ark., Andy and Cathy Deignan of Locust Grove and Bill and Lisa Deignan of Buford. Mr. Deignan also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Deignan graduated from Sanford High School in Sanford, FL in 1946 and after a brief career at Florida Fashions she settled down with her Harry to raise nine children. Then she and Harry enjoyed a well deserved retirement full of grandparenting, traveling, camping and just loving each other and their life together.
Though Jackie and Harry shared a very special Love in this world, her heart and soul always belonged to her Heavenly Father. Hers was a life of prayer and communion with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Her family and friends always benefited from Mama's prayers but now they have the benefit their very own Angel.
Visitation will be held Wednesday January 2nd at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, 1155 Everee Inn Road, Griffin from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Remembrance Service beginning at 7p.m. A Funeral Mass is tentatively scheduled at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday Jan. 4th at 11 am. Please check the funeral home website for confirmation of Mass time. Mrs. Deignan will be interred at Georgia National Veterans Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 12:00 noon on Friday January 4th.
