Mrs. Margarett Louise Jones Jones Melton

Mrs. Melton was born September 6, 1928 in LaGrange daughter of the late Doc M. Jones and the late Aleana Thomas Jones. She worked at Glass Container Corporation for many years. Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her husband, Sam H. Melton, Sr.; son, Sam H. “Sammy” Melton, Jr.; daughter, Gennia Bassett; 1 grandchild, Sam Harold Melton; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law, Jackie & Tony Gasses of Hampton, Sandra & Bobby Ritch of Barnesville; sons & daughters-in-law, Jessie & Emma Melton of Amburge, WI, Dennis & Lynne Melton of High Falls; 20 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and beloved dog & companion, Peanut.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margarett Louise Jones Melton will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
