

Mrs. Johnson was a native of LaGrange, Georgia, born to the late Walter & Arvella Curry Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson has resided in Griffin since 1945 when she and her husband moved there after WWII. Over the years she has been involved in various Griffin Bridge Clubs and Garden clubs, PTA officer, golfing and knitting. She was a member of the Griffin First Baptist Church, Elks Club and Griffin Country Club.
Martha is survived by her four children, Gale Dewberry (Jerry) of Griffin, Thomas Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Dawn Power (Ron) of Alpharetta, GA and Robyn Pichler (Bruce) of Clermot, GA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, James (Sue) Harris of LaGrange, GA, her caretakers for many years, Mary Mays and Imogene Bell, her cats, Coalie and Boots and grand-dogs, Honey, Barney and Lucky, and her night caretakers, Laura Rigby & Lisa Hipshire.
Friends may visit the family Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 12:00 noon – 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. After visitation the funeral procession, honored by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Department will proceed to the Oak Hill Mausoleum for a Cryptside service conducted by family friend, Rev. Bruce Martin.
