

Frank Alan Rice (AKA Alan), age 60 of St. Clair Shores, died on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Detroit Receiving Hospital. Alan was born on March 15, 1961 in Frankfort, IN to his parents, Gail Frank Rice and Clara Lucille (Nee: Conley) Wood.
Alan will be remembered for his approachable temperament and ability to connect with all people. He was nonjudgmental and treated those around him as individuals who had equal value.
Alan was an avid reader whose taste in literature ranged from history to archeology. He was a dutiful third Degree Mason who belonged to the Birmingham Masonic Lodge. Alan was a certified scuba diver who enjoyed exploring shipwrecks.
Alan was known for his famous homemade chili, spaghetti and goulash. Alan was an avid Walking Dead fan, who never missed watching an episode with his girls.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Two loving daughters, Nicole Carmella Rice and Mallory Anne Rice; his other half, Alice Mitkus; his two cherished granddaughters, Kayla, Kennedy; his grandson, Dempsy Alan; and his sister, Connie Nappo (Paul), survive him. He also leaves behind numerous extended family and close friends.
Aside from his loving parents, his brother, Gary Rice, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Alan will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at A.H Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, at Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods), with a Masonic service to be held at 7:00 p.m. . Funeral service will be held on October 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of A.H. Peters Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
