A writing dedicated to Andy’s 30th anniversary of working at Eastwood Clinics, by Charles Mueller.

There are blood families and other families are drawn together by life's experiences.   Andy was a "cousin" in the family of experiences and he will be missed.  Rest easy, Andy.

I want to express my Condolences to the family of my best friend growing up Andy. I have known Andy ever since grade school. I have so many Great Memories of things we did together that I will never forget. We both went are own ways after I went in the service and my marriage to my wife. We reunited  in the last couple of years golfing  and lunches together. It was really fun reminiscing all of are fun together along with are other buddies. I will always remember being invited for dinner from time to time and enjoying his Moms fantastic Polish Cooking. We were both born in December 1948 a couple of weeks apart. We have also stayed in contact on Facebook. I am devastated by his passing and will never forget him. May he Rest in Peace.🙏🙏💔💔

Andy was dependably at the core of all the Troop planned, needed or did.  His work made the boy's plans possible and his company around the campfire, long after the boys turned in for the night, made for my fond memories of him and our solutions to the problems of the world. Thank you Andy, I'll always remember.

I know Andy as I am a parent of four Troop 34 scouts.  Andy was such a great person to have at scouts, he would do the grocery arrangements and meet us at the campsite, and watch the boys patiently as they worked on dinners and hatchets and fires.  Was always so nice to talk to him around the campfire while the boys were hiking or at merit badge classes.  Andy didn't do all of the talking.  He must have been an incredibly good listener at work. On those occasions where he would talk, he talked about his son, and how proud he was of him, and his next plan to visit them.

I was sorry to hear of Andy's passing.  I enjoyed working with him at the Eastwood Clinic's Clinton Township Office.  He was a good Supervisor and served St. John-Eastwood well.  If memory serves me well, he was one of the pioneers in developing Eastwood prior to joining the St. John Hospital System.  Sympathy and prayers go out to Cathy and his family.

He was a special person on my professional journey.  He made my life run more smoothly.

I always knew Andy as Dave's friend. They were both U of M fanatics and integral parts of Troop 34.  I will always remember Fall days meant U of M football and Andy would wait patiently for Dave to pack tailgating stuff. Food, Chairs and everything else imaginable with a U of M logo on it. When Dave became ill and was in hospital succumbing to cancer, Andy would visit and sit quietly. I always remember him sitting legs crossed. His calm presence brought me strength, and I will never forget all the kindness he and Kathy showed me. He will be greatly missed.

Hearing of Andy's passing was so very sad for our family.  Andy was such a light when it came to Trp. 34 and all the scouts that he interacted with.  We took many trips and high adventures together, and he made such an impact on the boys.

Andy was a good man. We formed our friendship at Troop 34, even though I’m a Green & White guy. Andy was kind, confident and likable. He took it like a man on the long drive home from Ann Arbor after the “Fumbled Punt” game. 

Andy had compassion and understanding for those struggling with mental health. He was very respected in the mental health field.

I’m praying for the repose of his soul.

Kathy, Mike and Jenny, I am so sorry about your hubby and dad's death.  I was very shocked and surprised to hear about his passing.   Andy was a good man with incredible knowledge in the substance abuse and psych areas.  He would do anything he could to help someone in crisis,  whether it be a friend needing help getting a loved one inpatient somewhere or just listen and give advice on something only he could.  I remember interviewing for the controller job at Eastwood April 1, 1992.  I was interviewed by John Andrews. Andy, and Sandra Schiff all at the same time.  After I got the job I think he appreciated all the experience I had getting Eastwoods operation computerized and at the same time driving him crazy as he lost some of his autonomy.  We had a great relationship and I last spoke with him last year.  Very sad to hear about his passing but happy for him that he is with Margie and his mom and dad. I'm praying for you all at this tragic time.  God bless you all.
