Born august 10, 1938, in Saginaw, MI to Burton E. and Hixie Jane (Mathis) Dygert. Bert graduated from Albion College in 1960 and never forgot his Delta Tau Delta brothers. He began his 34- year career with General Motors at the Cadillac Clark St. facility and spent the next 34 years with GM working at Clark St., Connor Stamping, and Livonia Engine sites.
Bert leaves behind his wife, Rosemary (Bushala) Dygert; his children, Katherine Stevens (Rusty) and Berton M. Dygert (Jackie), and his stepdaughter, Lisa J. Cox (Shawn); his beloved 13 grandchildren and adored 9 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen Thoma (Mark); niece, Renee Render (Aaron), and his great- nephew, Andrew.
Bert loved the outdoors and told many stories of his hunting and fishing expeditions with his trusted and loved friend, Jim Brouckman. His most enjoyed days were spent on the golf course, come rain or shine. And let’s not forget the never- ending gatherings at the end of the day to relive every hole.
Due to health issues, Bert was unable to play golf for the past six years but he was still willing to tell a story about his friends and the wonderful memories of rounds long gone.
