Beth Ann Oakes (57) nee Parker Born December 27, 1958 died suddenly on July 24, 2016. Beloved daughter of the late Glenn & Elizabeth Parker. Survived by her precious daughter Tabitha Oakes. Also survived by her siblings Dean Parker, Virginia Parker, Lyn (Joe) Wagner, Marylou (Tom) Lger, Kelly Gerhart, Paula Parker (Dave Howell), by her nieces: Heather Parker, the late Megan Parker, Amy Parker, Melissa Frear, Carrie (Sam) Taormina, and Elisabeth Lger, and by her nephews: Glenn Parker, and Josh Gerhart. Beth grew up in Northwest Detroit and had a special love for family. She had a lengthy career at the Detroit Free Press (over 20 years) and most recently loved her work as a medical biller & benefits counselor for Covenant Community Care at their Moross & I94 clinic site. She will always remain in our hearts. Memorial visitation Wednesday 12-8 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Memorial Service Thursday 10 at the funeral home.
