It was often remarked by family that Beverly and her husband, Richard, were one complete and perfect person together. Their mutual love, devotion and globetrotting adventures were the essence of their lives until Richard’s passing on their 69th wedding anniversary in 2019.
Beverly’s outsized love of animals was legendary; as is illustrated by the oft told tale of her waving a cookie at the distant Canadian Rockies brown bear to see him better, until he nearly barged directly through the passenger window. Beverly is survived by her caring son, Kevin (Sandra), her beloved grandchildren, Meghan and Sean, her cousin Ernest Maier along with her sister-in-law Barbara Bommarito; nieces Laura (Dan), Martha (Larry) and Adrienne Bommarito. She is also survived by her granddogs Finnegan, Ginger and Earl as well as grandcats Bob and Marz.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society (GPAAS) at the website www.gpaas.org/donate (commemorate tab) or The Detroit Zoo at the zoo link: Tributes and Memorials - Detroit Zoo. Services to be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores on Tuesday May 13, with in-state visitation on from 9-10 am and funeral mass commencing at 10 a.m. The memorial mass can be livestreamed at:
