Brian S. Wood

Brian Strathearn Wood, age 52 of Sterling Heights, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2016. He was born in Detroit on December 19, 1963; the son of Strathearn and Marilyn (nee Philps) Wood. Brian was a longtime employee of Turner-Brooks in Madison Heights where he worked as a Project Manager. He enjoyed spending time at their family's cottage in Higgins Lake where he could pursue his passion for being outdoors. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, snowboarding and wakeboarding. Among many endearing qualities, Brian will be remembered for his sarcastic wit, his honest and straight-forward manner, and his delight in teasing others. Brian is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Lesa for 25 years. Loving father of Strathearn. Cherished son of Strathearn and Marilyn Wood. Dear brother of Pam (Bill) Christofferson and Jeff (Krissie) Wood. Caring uncle of Hunter, David & Danielle Jankowski and Maleri & Tyler Christofferson. Dear son-in-law of Jeanette Franzel. Treasured grandson of the late Elizabeth & Strathearn Wood and Marion & Harold Philps. Dear nephew of the late Dorothy Lee. Brian is also survived by many cousins, friends and co-workers. Brian's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 30th from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and Sunday, January 31st from 3:00pm until 9:00pm. A service will be held on Monday, February 1st at 10:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or Salvation Army.
