Charles Allen Petrie born Jan 15th 1940 in Detroit to John and Lola Petrie. Retired as a Sargent in 1985 from the Grosse Pointe Park Police Department. He was very involved in the F.O.P. during his service and after retirement and was a member of Detroit Elks Club No. 34 BPOE. Chuck loved telling funny stories about his experiences while serving as a policemen and spending time on his boat "Was a Fuzz" on Lake St. Clair. Mr. Petrie is survived by his wife Joann, children Stacia (Josh) Ford and Tess Petrie, daughter in law Theresa. He was predeased by his son Donald and sister Jackie and both Parents. He was grandfather of Luke and Lola Ford and brother of Lola Newman and Walt Petrie. He died at home with his loving Family by his side. Memorial services will be held August 6, 2011 at A.H. Peters 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier Road Grosse Pointe Woods. Memorial gathering 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Memorial Service 2:00 pm.In lieu of flowers donations to F.O.P. Grosse Pointe Lodge #102.
