

Chrysanthi Yfantides was born in Greece on December 24, 1931 to Konstantine and Lemonia Chatzipemou. She came to the United States and married Nicholas Yfantides and together they raised their children George, Gus and Penny. She and Nicholas ran a catering business Athena Foods, from which she retired in 1987. Chrysanthi was a wonderful mother, She was a great cook, and especially enjoyed baking Greek pasteries. She was attended church often and was a doting grandmother with unconditional love for her grandchildren. Chrysanthi is survived by her dear children George, Gus and Penny as well as her loving grandchildren Christine, Nicholas, Starr and Chrisann. She is also survived by her sister Theodora Chatzipemou. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Nicholas. Visitation for Chrysanthi will take place on Sunday from 2 until 9 pm with a Trisagion 7 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. She will lie in state on Monday from 9:30 am until time of service 10:00 am at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 11455 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights 48312. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
